SM Cebu, Cebu City
Probably one of the best Thai restaurants in Manila years back but little by little vanished from the scene. We decided to try Krua Thai once again, this time at their branch in Cebu.
The Tom Yum was nice but it lacked a bit of sourness. I like my soup tangy and a bit spicy. Flavorful though and very authentic.
Pad Thai was great since I love how it blended with the fluffy scrambled egg covering it. The egg was perfectly cooked and maintained its creamy consistency. The Pad Thai itself was just ok and a bit too sweet.
The Chicken In Green Curry was spicy just the way I like it. The texture of the sauce was creamy and smooth. Taste was superb and well-balanced. It was the best viand on the table.
Pineapple rice had too much chicken powder. The taste of the flavoring was really evident. It was actually pretty good except for the excess MSG. Sometimes less is definitely more.
The Bagoong Rice was really something. A blast from the past. Krua Thai is usually proud of this dish and sampling it solidified their claim to fame.
Thai Milk Tea was exceptional. I wouldn't mind drinking a barrel-full of that stuff.
Apart from some misses here and there, it was all in all an awesome meal. Or maybe it's just something we've haven't tried for a long time which made the experience different? Try it out and judge for yourself.
